Put the Scissors DOWN!

Iono how to stop.

Last night I looked in the mirror and hated, HATED my bangs. So I picked up some scissors and snip snip snip! I went a little too short to do the side swept bangs and freaked! But I got my flat iron out and... it was okay.

This morning I was loving it! But I'm not happy with the colour. It's too light, I'm colouring my hair tonight! Pics tomorrow.



On the eyes.. man.. it's an old, OOOOOOOOLLLLLLDDDDDD look. Way back when.. I even knew what a base was I was using black liner as a "base". Then I would throw on black eyeshadow all over the lid and blend it out with a silver/grey. It's a simple look that takes no time at all. It was pretty much my every day look for a good.. 3 or 4 years. Maybe more, I can't remember!

MY EYE!!! Feels much better today! Thank goodness.

Yesterday I went to work at the mart. Started at 6:40am. Didn't finish until 4pm. Ugh. I was put in the garden center and in the back of my mind I thought... my allergies are going to act up, I know it.

At lunch I was fine, a little sneezy, my eye was a bit red and itchy, but otherwise okay. Near the end of the shift my eye was feeling quite sore, but still looked fine. I came home, ate dinner and my eye felt worse. I took off my makeup, looked in the mirror and.. BAM. Disgusting. Scary. My eye was bright red. The white of my eye from inner or outer corner was swollen around my iris. Can you picture that? I tried to take a picture to prove the grossness... but the flash washed it out so much that you could only see my pupil. It hurt. It felt like my eye was closed when it was wide open.

I go down to see my mom and say "MY EYE! LOOK AT IT!" she tells me I should go to the clinic, and I'd better hurry because it closes soon. So with my one good eye, I went. The doctor comes into the consult room and asks me what he can do for me. I take off my sunglasses and say "I think I have an eye infection." He steps back. That's always nice! LOL. He looks and says... he thinks that it's a severe allergic reaction. I get a prescription and I'm off. It was so sunny out!! So I'm squinting with my good eye and dabbing at my other. I went to the pharmacy and.. yeah.. let's just say they closed earlier than the posted time and I was pissed.

Anyway, with no meds... and a leaky, painful, swollen eye, I decided to call in sick to work for the next day. I wore an eye patch when I got home.. ARRRRR! I passed out with an ice pack sandwiched between my hand (which was sore from counting..) and my eye. Woke up with a puddle of water on me.

My mom picked up my medicine for me plus some otc stuff so I think I should be good now. I had a pretty productive day. I did 4 loads of laundry, changed my sheets, cleaned up a bit, vacuumed, and... found a pair of vintage sunglasses!!! I think they belonged to my momma.




I also cleaned the pets, the puppy got a manicure a shampoo and blow out! Surprisingly, it only took about 20 minutes to blow dry her. She's nice and fluffy.




While I had the camera out.. I thought I should take pictures of the sisters.. Lily, true to form, wasn't having it. Isn't it just like a cat to not listen to you?



Paris is thinking "Mom said to stay.. why are you leaving?"
Yeah.

Anyway! Tomorrow (well.. today) I have a job interview! I hope it goes well! I really want this job! I've been coveting it since April.

My "sis" was giving me tips on what I should do.. what I should wear.. etc. I still have no idea what I'm wearing.. and for makeup.. I guess I'll keep it neutral, whatever that means! Haha.. I think I'm going to wear this makeup look that I did last week for dropping off resumes.

I haven't taken FOTD pics in forever.. I kept getting flash outs and blurry pictures.. so this is my I'm so fed up with taking pictures face.



I'll do another blog in the evening because I got an interesting phone call while I was cleaning but I don't want this post to rage out of control.

Cuz I'm bluffin' with my muffin

I discovered a new youtube channel that I think is going to be a good watch. It's five ladies tracking their weight loss and getting healthy routine. They are extremely brave to be putting it all out there for everyone to see. I admire their courage. I just watched all the introductory videos and a common theme to gaining weight and letting oneself get unhealthy is... MEN! You get into a relationship and you eat what he eats (usually JUNK!) and just lay around together all day and be lazy. The women gain weight and the men just stay the same or.. lose the weight easily. Not fair.

I can totally relate, but I know I am by no means overweight. I am now the correct weight for my height (some have even said it's my "happy weight"), but it's more of a "feeling good about myself" stand point. I have very low energy levels, eat crap, carry all my weight in one area (the muffin/tummy area) and then feel like garbage. So I want to change that by getting active (moderate amount.. because let's face it, we're talking about me here lol), eating better (getting into more raw foods), and just feeling better about myself overall. Calorie counting is not for me. Uh.. no. I like to eat. Watching those calories would just make me feel bad (... that might be why it works!) and I want something that I can continue for.. indefinitely. Calorie counting seems more like a diet to me *shrugs*.

That being said, I started jumping rope. I've been doing it for about a week and I try to do about ten minutes a day. How I let myself get so inactive is beyond me. My last round of jumping.. I must have landed funny or maybe it's a combination of that and me working at 3 bargain type stores this week (which means extra crouching, extra reaching, weird positions to see products) and I felt a sharp pain in my knee. Now it hurts when I go up and down stairs =( so I'm going to have to alter my regime somehow...

WANT.

I'm online, searching for short leggings. I'm what they call vertically challenged, so most of the leggings I buy will hit my ankle.. or lower. They are meant to hit just below the knee. The only site I found is labeled a "junior" site. I'm nearly 24, I am way past the junior category!!

Then I remembered that I saw a fashion blogger post a picture of herself in some. They are basically glorified bike shorts, but they are perfect for summer. I couldn't find the post. But she did mention these...

I know that I shouldn't be shopping. I know this, but what did I do? I went shopping.

At least my first purchase was for my dad. Even though he wants me to return it, whatever.

I went to HMV and got two cd's that I've been wanting for the longest time. I got Lady Gaga The Fame and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Fever To Tell (LOVE Date With The Night). I've liked Lady Gaga from the start. Her music is too catchy, but when I saw her music videos..... that's what put me over the edge. She has such a crazy and innovative style. Love her! And Karen O? Love.




Then I went to Winners to look for a dress. I need to find something for my brother's wedding in October. It's hard to find a something when you already have something pictured in your head. My biggest problem is that I want to wear a certain pair of shoes... and I have to find a dress to match them!

No luck in finding a dress... for the wedding. But as I was perusing the aisles I came across this (looks wonky on the hanger, but trust me, it's CUTE!)



HOW CUTE IS THAT? Had to have it. I was walking around the store debating if I should buy this Dollhouse jacket because it was on sale. It was a pleather jacket with elastic ribbing cuffs. I decided against that because I saw these

I've been wanting to share these for over a month! I went to see Metric at the HMV store on Yonge in April. I waited in line for over 3 hours because if was a free event. It was totally worth it! They performed a few songs from their new album and afterward we had the opportunity to meet the band and get them to sign stuff ! But we were instructed by security that it could only be one thing and it had to be open and ready! I was so nervous to speak to them lol. I'd have to say that Metric is my favourite band right now, and I didn't know what to say! I think I told Josh "Great show!!!!" *big smile. Nothing to Jimmy or Joules, and to Emily "You guys were awesome! I love you guys!!!!! I want to see you in Detroit!!". Yeah.. I don't know.



I gave this cd to J to get signed.. he didn't open it!

I know I said I would get batteries and blah blah blah. But I haven't. I'm THAT lazy. I want a new camera, one that doesn't lag and has.. awesome capabilities. I'm saving up.

Anyway,

I just woke up from a nap. I went to a work meeting today (like a boss!) and then shopped around. Didn't eat all day so got an insane craving for junk food. I snarfed down a McChicken.. sat around and then fell asleep.

What did I dream about?

SPARKLERS. You know, the things you put on birthday cakes... I was dreaming that someone would light them... and I tried to put them out in my mouth. Strange. I felt the burn.

I go on youtube, and oh look, Metric posted their new music video for "Sick Muse". What do they have in that video? SPARKLERS. What the hell. Am I now psychic? Apparently!

So what did I buy? You're dying to know right? I bought a top and tights for $5 each! Then I went to MAC, it's my addiction. I didn't need a new lipgloss... but the zebra/leopard print packaging was too cute.

Conversations with a 3 Year Old

I just got back from Toronto today. My mom wanted to help my sister with the new baby.

Ethan is on his March break so safe to say he was very bored and had a lot of interesting things to say. Here are some of our conversations.

Ethan: YeeYee (that's what he calls me) where is your shirt?
Me: I'm not wearing a shirt today. I'm wearing a dress.
Ethan: *confused look*
Me: Girls can wear skirts and dresses or pants.
Hanna: Hey Ethan, is YeeYee a female or male?
Ethan: Female!!!
Me: That's right Monkey!
Ethan: But where's your penis YeeYee?
Hanna: Females don't have penises Ethan!!

The next day I wore jeans and he said,
Ethan: YeeYee! You're a male! Males wear pants!
Me: No! Females can wear pants OR skirts.
Ethan: OH.

One afternoon Ethan decided that he wanted to help wash vegetables and got his shirt wet. I took him to his room to change. After five minutes of asking him to change his sweater he finally said,
Ethan: Okay, stop the complaining!
Me: I was not complaining! I was asking you to do something!
Ethan: Okay, okay.

*Sigh

IT'S ALIVE!

Fixed my laptop. Huzzah! Actually, I wasn't that crazy for internet.

So since the last post....

My sister had a baby boy, Daniel! He is so cute.
I am no longer working. I am still hired, just not scheduled. FUN.
